Route lifecycle

What to confirm from application onward

Financial basis
At least BZ$500,000 in documented Belize investment.
Government service fees
The current fee page describes temporary residence as one-fifth of the nationality-based permanent-residence fee, but the published schedule is dated 2020. Confirm the live amount before paying.
Initial status
Temporary residence for one year.
Renewal
The authority describes the one-year status as renewable annually. Renewal requirements and approval remain separate.
Dependents
The document page says a spouse and children may be included with the submission. It does not establish automatic approval or a route-specific financial increment.
Work rights
This page does not infer a right to local employment from temporary investment residence.
Presence considerations
The temporary route is intended for investors unable to meet the ordinary permanent-residence presence restriction; no separate minimum-presence rule is stated for this status.
Permanent residence
Permanent residence is a separate route that currently uses at least one year of legal residence and a 14-day total-absence limit during that year. The cited sources do not establish that temporary-investment time automatically satisfies that route.
Citizenship relationship
Citizenship is a separate process and is not established by temporary investment residence.
