Route lifecycle

What to confirm from application onward

Financial basis
At least US$500,000 or its equivalent in a productive investment for goods or services.
Government service fees
Chile’s migration charges are nationality-dependent and the exchange-rate table is time-sensitive. Confirm the live SERMIG amount before paying.
Initial status
Temporary residence under subcategory 13; the current general framework permits up to two years, subject to the individual grant.
Renewal
A renewal must show progress or continuation of the investment project and the current tax, municipal, contractual, and company evidence that applies. Renewal is not automatic.
Dependents
SERMIG states that qualifying family members under Law 21,325 Article 74(1)–(2) may receive temporary residence as dependents through the separate dependent procedure.
Work rights
This guide covers only the investor branch. It does not publish or infer eligibility through the related senior-personnel or technical-employment branch.
Presence considerations
No investor-specific physical-presence rule is stated on the dedicated route page.
Permanent residence
Definitive residence is a separate application subject to the current temporary-residence, absence, compliance, and subcategory rules; it is not automatic.
Citizenship relationship
No citizenship timeline is stated because the current official materials reviewed for this wave are not sufficiently consistent to support one route-specific claim.
