Qualifying investment
Guatemala’s temporary investor residence is for an applicant who documents at least US$100,000 in qualifying investment, its lawful source, and the intended economic activity.

What the current source supports
- Use the current IGM Form 01-2026 for temporary investor residence.
- Provide a valid passport and complete legalized copy, the required entry or movement record, and current criminal or police clearance.
- Provide a notarial declaration describing the economic activity and estimated stay.
- Document at least US$100,000 in qualifying investment through the applicable registral records, securities, invoices, or other evidence accepted by IGM.
- Apostille or legalize foreign public documents as applicable, translate them into Spanish where required, and file personally through the Subdirección de Extranjería.
