Route lifecycle

What to confirm from application onward

Financial basis
The statutory minimum is USD 50,000 or equivalent. Qualifying forms include capital in lawful Honduran economic activity and, as permitted by law, certificates, securities, or State or national-financial-institution bonds. The separate investment-guarantee deposit is at least USD 5,000 or equivalent.
Government service fees
The RNE checklist states USD 20 for registration, L 50 for the stamp, L 200 for the certification, and USD 20 for each year of the foreigner card. Residence-application charges, professional representation, authentication, translation, and external-document costs are separate and should be confirmed before filing.
Initial status
Resident-investor status under the Honduran Migration and Foreigners Law. The cited sources do not describe the initial investor grant as permanent or indefinite.
Renewal
The RNE guidance generally requires annual renewal of the foreigner card. Continued compliance with the authorized investor activity and investment conditions remains separate from card renewal.
Dependents
Dependent family members use a separate INM category and must submit their own relationship and filing evidence; no automatic derivative approval is inferred.
Work rights
A resident may not perform activities other than those authorized by the granted migratory quality. Investor residence does not establish unrestricted employment outside the approved investment activity.
Presence considerations
Resident status is lost after more than 12 consecutive months outside Honduras without prior authorization under Article 58 of the migration law.
Permanent residence
Immigrated status is a separate later category generally tied to five consecutive years of residence and additional legal conditions. Investor residence does not automatically become immigrated status.
Citizenship relationship
Naturalization is a separate legal process and is not established by investor residence or foreigner-card registration.
